Or that is the gamble taken here in the heart of horse country.
If a horse sires a winner of the Kentucky Derby, the stud fee will tend to triple. Why, based on this very principle and belief that Success Breeds Success and more success will be breed.
While, I am not suggesting that your lineage is the determining factor of your success or not, I do believe the principle is true for us.
Think about moments you have been successful. What did it feel like? Most likely it was like jet-fuel tracing through your veins, releasing endorphin to your brain to tell the rest of you that you happy and joyous. And what happens, we want that feeling again.
It's why runners run, lifters lift and fitness freak continue to freak.
It's why business people hustle, singers sing and dancers dance.
We love the feeling of success, of accomplishment, of winning. And it pushes us to continue to want to win, accomplish and be successful. It is built into us. I recently heard a talk that both runners with normal sight and blind runners both raised their hands as they crossed the finish line. Though I blind runner could have never seen this, he or she still did it.
Why, it is built into us to feel accomplished.
It is why Dave Ramsey created the baby steps, he knew that if you could feel like a winner immediately you would keep working to win when it became a struggle.
So if you've hit a struggle, find a small thing to have success in today. Maybe it is just getting up to be active. Maybe it's the first workout. Maybe is a better food choice.
If you worked this week and only lost 1 pound, still celebrate your success. Because SUCCESS BREEDS SUCCESS. Believing you have been successful will push you to continue to want to be successful.
This week find a small thing to win at. Then go do that thing. Then build on that success.
